The Utopian Tranquility of the Virus

Spring unfolds around us, 

Blithely unaware of  

Social distancing. 

Blossoms. 

Birds. 

Rabbits. 

Rainbows. 

All seem to be 

Doing just fine 

In our absence. 

This does not so much 

Argue for a world 

Without humanity, 

As it advocates 

For a humanity 

Without our 

Cloying, 

Existential, 

Arrogance.
